Offer Policy

The Meruelo Family Center for Career Development maintains and firmly enforces an offer policy which aims to benefit both our employers and students.

The Notre Dame Student Promise

Through a signed Job/Internship Search Ethical Agreement, students promise to attend scheduled meetings or interviews, provide professional advance notice of interview schedule changes, and withdraw from any recruiting process they do not intend to fully pursue for an offer. The Center for Career Development enforces a zero tolerance policy for students who renege after accepting an offer of employment or who conduct themselves unethically and/or unprofessionally during their search.

Recruiting Policies at Notre Dame

We ask of our recruiting partners to please respect and adhere to the below policies whether you recruit on campus or virtually.

  • Off-campus Interviews - provide students with a minimum three business days notice for an off-campus interview. This time is critical for students to arrange travel and rearrange academic and/or other leadership commitments.

  • Uphold Job Offers - rescinding an offer means the student must restart their search and it damages the credibility of your organization amongst the student body. If there is a special circumstance where you think an offer must be withdrawn, please let us know.

  • Offer Timeline - provide fair and reasonable time for students to respond to an offer. This decision impacts both their future professional and personal life. See the below chart for specific deadline policies.
