Handshake is the Center for Career Development's online recruiting system. Employers may post internship, fellowship and full-time opportunities for current students free of charge. By posting opportunities on Handshake, you can receive and review students' resumes via email or in an online application packet.
Graduate students also have access to the Alumni job board which requires experience - post your job here!
Request an On Campus Recruiting (OCR) Schedule through Handshake, and enjoy interviewing our students in our brand new state of the art facility located on the 5th floor of the Student Duncan Center. See the On Campus Recruiting section for all details.
Our Fall and Winter Career Fairs are open to all students and majors. We typically have 3000 students attend our Fall Career Fair and 1000 attend our Winter Career Fair.
Employer presentations allow organizations to provide information about their company and available opportunities. You can structure your information session any way you would like! Virtual information sessions are welcome as well. Typically for 10 to 150 students.
Host a small group of students where you can participate in informal conversation and networking while discussing your organization, industry, and talent opportunities. Typically for 5 to 10 students.
Partner with one of our career counselors/consultants on a career development skill building workshop on numerous topics from resumes and CVs to networking to strategic job search. Typically for 10 to 50 students.
A brief informational one-on-one meeting where students sign up to speak with your team about your company, the industry, and/or basic information. You may have your Office Hours for a specific major and class level or you could open it to all students. Each session is typically 15 to 20 minutes. Organizations are invited to host networking receptions and social events throughout the year to meet and interact with talented students either across a college or within a particular department. Whether it’s an information lunch, cocktail receptions (graduate students), or more formal dinner, we welcome the opportunity to help you with your plans.
Symposiums provide students with the opportunity to interact and exchange research ideas with colleagues and industry leaders. Through sponsorship of a symposium, you will have unique opportunity to support and attend the collaborative event and contribute to the development of future leaders. Connecting with student clubs is a great way to let students know who you are! Reach out directly to the club leaders to partner on an event or share specific job opportunities.
A Mock Interview is an opportunity for our students to complete a practice interview to help them learn and prepare for actual interviews throughout the course of the year. Career Treks are a career exploration initiative that allows students to travel to various cities in order to gain insight into career fields of interest. These immersive experiences provide behind the scenes opportunities for students to engage with an organization, shadow professionals in the workplace, learn about various career paths, meet with Notre Dame alumni, and more. Throughout the year our students travel to Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and New York to participate in Career Treks. If you would like to host a group of students at your office, please contact our office.
If your organization is advertising to fill positions, you may receive resumes from international students who need sponsorship. Don't dismiss those applications out of hand; take a closer look! The precedent for international students to obtain temporary U.S. work authorization is longstanding and well-established, and the application process is straightforward. The International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA) office at Notre Dame works with students to facilitate employment authorization, which is approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.
The Center for Career Development, in coordination with Notre Dame International, has put together an easy-to-use and downloadable guide "Hiring the International Student" to help clarify the work authorization process.
